Go Green

It was a beautiful spring day yesterday and I thought I'd take a few shots to document the light and gorgeous colors that sprout in the spring. I have taken photos of my friend Hend before but was in dire need for a retake session. When you have the chance to take photos of a girl that was scouted to try out for America's Next Top Model, you take the opportunity whenever you get it!
We went out to the cornfields and meadow by my house to take these pictures and I love how they came out. The weather was amazing and their was just enough wind to add that whimsical look perfect for spring.

Ello Cupcake!

Oh, what to do on a Monday. Bake? Maybe. Cupcakes? Perhaps. With Friends? Sounds like a plan!
My good friends Michelle and Sarah accompanied me to the kitchen to whip up some culinary creations; with pearls on our necks, martini
glasses in our hands, and Frank Sinatra singing in the background, we looked onto the challenge with little fear. With flavors like Pina Colada, Red Velvet, Pink Champagne, Thin Mint, and Almond Raspberry to name a few, I think it's safe to say we accomplished greatness, perhaps epic-ness.
It was such a fun day overall and a very productive one at that. In all, I think we made around 75+ cupcakes and more than 15 flavors! Reflecting on the day, I believe pawning the rest off on friends and relatives may prove to be the bigger challenge....

Spring has Sprung!

Awww yes, a little break from classes :) My spring break has officially started and as I sit in bed editing photos, I decided to gush about how excited I am about the coming week! Although I am starting my break under the weather, I am optimistic for the days to come :) Lots of photos, time with friends, and sun! A trip to the beach is in order, as well as a TIVO catch up.
It is a random tradition of my mother's to take a photograph of the cherry tree in our backyard every spring while it is in bloom. This year, she asked me to do it. At the time I decided to take the shot, the sky looked AMAZING! These two images are untouched color wise. All I did was enhance the vignetting. Enjoy your next week! I know I will!

1:3

For my visualization assignment, I was told to photograph one subject, three different ways to evoke three different emotions. I chose my friend Sarah's hand so that I could be broader with my different compositions and ideas. I really liked the concept of this assignment so I decided to use it as the basis of my digital printing mid term. The first three are the final ones for visualization and the rest will be printed for my other class. Enjoy!

In the Studio

My guy friends in Our Living Memory let me sit in on a practice at their church in Livermore Thursday night. I got to dink around with my camera and take some photos while also listening to them compose a brand new song and practice for their show coming up next weekend. SUCH a cool experience. These were some of my favorite shots and I hope you enjoy.

"My love is forever because . . . because it just is."

My friend Johnathen has met the love of his life, or should I say, his Lois Lane! Her name is Bianca and she is amazing :) I was able to take photos of them in downtown Livermore this weekend just for fun in the hopes maybe I can use one photo for my midterm. Thankfully, more than one turned out! I'm really happy with how some of them came out and cannot wait to take more photos of them in the mere future.

Eternal Sunshine

I actually shot these photos in December before I started this blog. My friend Mel had been wanting me to take photos of her so I finally made the trip to South City for our adventure! Right now, she is in the Philippines and I miss her badly so I figured I would post these since I never got around to doing it earlier.

She was SUCH a good sport that day! Sacrificing her hair and suede boots for my set :) The weather was crazy and would go from thunder and pouring rain one minute to cloudless sunshine the next. Although frustrating at times, the weather provided different lighting situations which made the colors look incredible! No editing for most of these :) except a little vignette added in Lightroom.
